Hello, welcome to our site. We are an organic farm and this website is to be used to showcase our animals and keep customers up to date on news of the farm. This sites content will vary from news on breeding and butchering to random information in the shape of blog. Please contact us for more queries and questions here.
We are located in the Howardian Hills an area of rolling hills between the North York Moors National Park, the Yorkshire Wolds and the Vale of York.
Organic since 2002 the farm lies in the shelter of a well wooded limestone ridge which runs between Malton and Hovingham. It makes for an ideal environment for rearing livestock and growing crops.
Much of the grass lands have never been cultivated and produce a rich variety of ‘old land grasses’ off which livestock fatten. Whilst woodland covering ancient quarry land provides an ideal habitat for pigs.
We work hard at looking after our grasses using clover to fix nitrogen from the atmosphere and value organic matter and in particular manure!
Our herd is ‘closed’. The Suckler Cows ( the mothers) produce calves which suckle off them for up to 12 months when they are weaned and moved to a diet of grass and silage.
